The Dale & Frances Hughes Cancer Center, located at 231 East Brown Street in East Stroudsburg, PA, is a nonprofit institution devoted to cancer treatment and prevention.

The mission of The Dale & Frances Hughes Cancer Center is to provide the most technologically advanced cancer therapy and treatment to offer every patient the optimal chance for cure.

The Center is named in honor of R. Dale Hughes and his wife, Frances, of East Stroudsburg, who made a gracious philanthropic gift of $1.2 million in 2000 for the Hughes Cancer Center. For more about Dale and Frances Hughes, see the "Who are Dale and Frances Hughes" page.

The Hughes Cancer Center is a member of the Jefferson Cancer Network, which provides access to the latest proven treatment protocols, including IGRT, as well as specialized educational programs and conferences to the oncology specialists at the Hughes Cancer Center.

Opening as a PA cancer treatment center in 1988, the Hughes Cancer Center is a department of Pocono Medical Center (PMC) and a member of the Pocono Health System (PHS). PHS manages several healthcare subsidiaries to collectively provide services to residents and visitors of Monroe County and surrounding counties in Pennsylvania and New Jersey. Subsidiaries include Pocono Medical Center, Pocono Healthcare Management, Pocono Healthcare Partners, Pocono Ambulatory Services and Pocono Health Foundation. PHS is also affiliated with the Pocono Ambulatory Surgery Center, Advanced Radiology Services, outpatient services and physician practices at the Mountain Healthcare Center.

We offer a variety of technologically advanced treatments, including a breakthrough radiation therapy technique called Intensity Modulated Radiation Therapy (IMRT), which is delivered by a state-of-the-art Linear Accelerator machine. We offer PA lung cancer treatment using IMRT. We also offer Prostate Seed Implantation, which allows for precise treatment of cancer in the prostate gland. Additionally, our PA liver cancer treatment facilities are equipped for the best possible care you can receive.
